About Chica
“You shop in Chica to ensure that you stand out from the crowd in the most ostentatious, head-turning, statement-making, fabulous, sexy, self-indulgent, self-adorning, Goddess power-claiming ensemble. It’s that simple”

“Set, surprisingly, among the glossy new wing of Spitalfields Market is Dublin-born boutique Chica – a riot of colour, frills, sequins and flounce.”
TimeOut London, April 11-17 2007
"One of Dublin’s most popular fashion boutiques has opened its first London store in the newly regenerated Spitalfields. Stocking more than 50 different designers, such as Erotokritos, Mawi and Belle and Bunty, and with price ranges from £50 to £250, Chica is the perfect antidote to high-street déja vu.”

“Its sibling owners have sourced quirky labels for girls who love a little glitz. Check out their eye-popping costume jewellery”
British InStyle Magazine, Feb 2006
“This week we love. . . Chica Night: Chica owners Josette, Mena and Mary-Kate Ryan, who have a great eye for buying unusual labels and exquisite pieces for day-time evens, have recently opened Chica Night! So if you are stuck for an outfit or accessories to wear for a ball, or dinner, have a browse before making your final decision.”

“A GIRL’S BEST FRIEND
Model and Singer Una Gibney admits she has a weakness for show stopping numbers stocked in Chica in Dublin’s Westbury Mall. ‘The shop has a lovely relaxed atmosphere and a friendly vibe. It’s a great store to come in and browse through but it’s impossible to walk out without buying something as there’s too much to tempt you!’ laughs Una, who recently released her single ‘Givin UP; and who is now preparing to take the lead vocal role in Michael Flatleys Celtic Tiger. ‘The thing about Chica is that every piece sold here feels unique so you never worry about bumping into someone wearing the same outfit as you.’ One of the best parts of shopping in Chica is dealing with the owners, sisters, Josette, Mena and Mary-Kate Ryan. ‘They are fantastic as they really look after every customer. The girls buy clothes in an astonishing range of colours. Even in the depths of winter when all the other stores are packed with grey, Chica is still crammed with bright colours.’”

“Following the success of their first shop in the Westbury Mall, the Chica girls have opened a second, minutes away from the first, inside the mall. If Kylie, shopped in Ireland this would be her first stop. Bypassing the sometimes sexless layered or architectural dressing of boutiques, this is part disco, part ethnic dressing and very girly and glamorous. Prices are fairly reasonable for a boutique, and occasionally surprisingly cheap. Worth checking out for alternative evening wear, which would make good wedding outfits, and fabulous jewellery for those who favour the ‘dripping with it’ look.”

“If you can’t stand crowds, head down Clarendon Street, where you’ll find the gorgeous Chica. This fabulous girlie boutique sells brightly coloured printed pieces as well as stunning jewellery.”

“Having a fashion crisis moment? Don’t really feel like you’ve enough going on in your outfit? Relax! All the best girls are ditching their classy clutches for kitshy purses. Chick chic Mecca, Chica in the Westbury Mall, Clarendon Street, Dublin, has a fabulous and exclusive range of mad ‘East Village New meets Arcadius’ range of bags by Vesna. Even if your outfit isn’t worth talking about, your bag will be” Constance Harris

“Chica is a young, feminine boutique recently opened in the Westbury Mall. The owners, Josette and Philomena, support an eclectic mix of new and upcoming designers in their collection. Much of the stock consists of one-off garments – from kitsch bags by Croatian designer Vesna Orel, to vibrant Sari-style tops. My favourite, however, has to be the leather and knit pieces created by Macson. There is a strong selection of colour and variety in the shop and its refreshing to see this combination of new talent and professional retailing” Niamh O’Rourke
